Start with the source
A last-seen value is useful only when its source is visible. ZENQIX Endpoint presents the device or agent context that produced the observation, alongside the observed time. That lets an operator ask whether the record is the right device before interpreting its age.
Age changes the decision
Recent, stale and unknown are different states. A recent observation may support a current review. A stale observation can be a prompt to investigate connectivity or reporting cadence. Unknown means the available evidence is not enough to infer a current state.
Use freshness with context
- Compare the observation age with the operating window you care about.
- Check device identity, platform and assigned site before grouping records.
- Keep an explicit boundary when the product has not verified a claim.
What the record helps you decide
The record can help an internal IT team decide which device needs attention, which observation deserves a refresh, and where evidence is incomplete. It is a visibility aid, not an automatic action dispatch.
