Synthetic count workflow

Expected item, location and session context make a count explainable.

Current ZENQIX Inventory private-pilot model
  • Expected item and location context
  • Raw scan and observed quantity
  • Difference and reconciliation state

Define the count boundary

Choose the locations, session window and item set before scanning. A clear boundary makes it possible to explain what the count covers and what remains outside the session.

Prepare expected data

  • Use stable item identifiers and readable descriptions.
  • Record the expected quantity and location context.
  • Separate a new count session from an earlier unresolved difference.

Make the raw observation reviewable

A scan or manual count is an observation that should remain connected to its session and location. Preserve the raw input long enough for an operator to understand how a match or variance was reached.

Plan the reconciliation decision

The useful outcome is not a green badge. It is a documented difference, a review decision and a clear state. Where a difference is unresolved, keep it visible rather than implying an inventory-system posting.
