DNS Checker
See the bounded public address answer for a domain before investigating the application.
Run DNS Checker
Public targets only. No credentials, changes or anonymous active security testing.
What this check does
- Public name resolution
- Bounded public address results
What it does not prove
- No full DNSSEC validation
- No registrar ownership check
- No complete record-type inventory
Interpret the returned state
PASS means the endpoint returned evidence within its named boundary. REVIEW, WARN and FAIL must be read alongside that evidence; they are not automatically vulnerabilities. UNKNOWN means the observation could not establish the answer.
Why it matters
If a name resolves unexpectedly, applications can reach a different destination than intended. One resolver observation does not prove that every visitor sees the same answer.
Common review questions
- A name has no usable public address answer.
- A recent change may still be cached elsewhere.
- A correct address does not establish application health.
Read a DNS answer without over-reading it
Start with the exact hostname, not just the organisation name. The root domain and www hostname may resolve differently.
Compare the observed answer with the destination your administrator intended. A returned public address is evidence of resolution, not evidence of ownership.
After a DNS change, record the time and repeat the observation. Different resolver caches can explain differences without proving compromise.
When a fuller review would help
ZENQIX can combine relevant observations, explain priorities and recommend next steps. No automatic remediation, penetration test or complete-security guarantee is included.
